North Lake County EMS was founded November 29, 1959 in Silver Lake, Oregon by a group of citizens concerned about the medical care in their community. This group of citizens purchased the needed medical supplies to stock their first ambulance from their own personal resources. There are a total of one (1) EMT I’s, three (3) EMT B’s, one (1) First Responders, five (5) volunteer drivers; supported by a 5 member Board of Directors. For the past 62 years, first-rate pre-hospital emergency medical care has been provided to individuals living and working in our service area, as well as the many people who travel through and visit our area. North Lake County EMS is an all-volunteer provider that serves 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is a well-known “frontier” EMS agency in Central Oregon.
